Hello everyone,

The long hot days of summer are over, even here in Arizona. We enjoyed the pool and swimming and tall drinks of iced tea, and the long days and riding the horses on the full moon desert nights, but are looking forward to the bustle and excitement that fall always brings to the desert.

Our beloved “snowbirds” (winter visitors) return and you begin to feel the bustle of the holidays as early as October. The winter belongs to Arizona, as we take day trips full of sunshine and cool breezes to see all the sites within driving distance and attend multitudes of fairs, festivals, art shows, hot balloon races, air shows…the list goes on and on. For every winter weekend we have ten things you could do. But, when, at the end of the day, you are worn out, but too wound up to go to bed, what could be better than having a good book waiting for you? Nothing you say? Absolutely right!

Right now I’m working on the last of my TimeQuest series and am telling Patti and Jeff’s story, TimeLost. I’m also finishing up the second in my mystery line of Annie Hill and her Slinky Sleuths—it will be called Not I Said the Little Red Hen. Remember, each mystery will have a nursery rhyme title and said nursery rhyme will hold one or more clues to the solving of the mystery. On another note, I’ve finished and sent off my second medical romance Angel Outrageous and hope to hear back soon.

On a more personal note, my dear husband, who always does things differently, is having his mid-life crisis (I think) and bought a Mercedes-Benz. Not just any Mercedes Benz, though, but the Q Smart Car. You’ve seen them. I think Mr. Bean drove one? It’s even rumored that the latest James Bond stepped out of one in his last movie. They look like toys. Everywhere he goes people stop him to ask him about it. He’s taken to handing out flyers, just so he can get home somewhere near on time. You see, he is ultimately, a practical man, and driving back and forth in his huge ranch truck, was costing us a fortune in gasoline. So he found the Q Smart and it gets roughly 55-65 mpg. I have to admit, it is awfully cute, safe according to the crash tests, and fits easily into the garage, though I tease him about being able to find it out there. :) Well, I must end now, books to write, places to go. Remember, take time every day for a cup of something great to drink and a good book, before the rush of the holidays are upon us.

Wishing you well and as many books as you want,

Susan Yarina
